It’s time to mark your calendars, because the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Varignana 1705 is heating up ahead of its second year at the luxurious Palazzo di Varignana resort from 27-29 September. Following last year’s inaugural event, the 2024 Concorso is set to showcase 30 of the world’s finest pre-1973 automotive icons against the breathtaking Italian countryside.
This year’s event will present them across six meticulously curated classes, each a tribute to a unique era or theme in automotive history. These include Prima Del Temporale (which translates to ‘Pre-War Period’), Eccellenze Di Stoccarda (Excellence from Stuttgart) and Il Meglio Di Motor Valley (The Best of Motor Valley) – which celebrates the mechanical magic that put Italy’s Emilia-Romagna on the global map. British charm will also be on full display in the ‘British Postcards’ category.
Early highlights include an Alfa Romeo Tipo 6C 1750, Lamborghini Miura Prototype, Isotta Fraschini 8C Monterosa Touring and the Fiat 1100 Ghia. For those who like their classics with a twist, the FuoriConcorso class will honour the Auto Avio Costruzioni 815, arguably the first Ferrari by Enzo Ferrari, in all but name.
The Concorso wouldn’t be complete without the presence of some of collectors from around the globe. Expect to see Italy’s own Corrado Lopresto and Silvia Nicolis, Germany’s Georg Gebhard, Alessandro Squarzi and Japan’s Hidetomo Kimura, all of whom are bringing some of their most prized possessions.
Head to Palazzo di Varignana for more information and to grab your tickets.
