Rolls-Royce bigwig buys modded 1965 Land Rover

It was truly a meeting of two worlds when Hans Wolf, production director of cutting-edge Rolls Royce Motor Cars, collected his new car from Goodwood Members’ Meeting (13-14 April) – a 1965 Land Rover Series 2A.

Predictably it was no normal Land Rover. Chassis 25239025 left the factory in November 1965 destined for the Swiss Army, was dry-stored throughout its life and the imported back in 2015 to a private collection.

It was then bought by Windsor Classics in 2022 and subsequently underwent a full nut and bolt restoration plus uprating for the modern world including disc brakes, power steering, PTO winch to front and a bespoke leather trimmed interior. Windsor Classics even modified an original bakerlite steering wheel to a smaller diameter.

Having collecting the Landie at Goodwood Hans headed straight to Folkestone and the Land Rover’s new home in Bavaria.
